I signed up for a dating service last week. This is the kind of dating service where members are invited to a place to have a cocktail-party like of gathering. Members socialize with each other and make friends among other members. For me, this is just like attending a usual party with friends. I am glad that the membership fee for this dating service site is not that expensive. Actually the fee is affordable as compared to the fees in other dating service sites. I asked my friend Marieh to registered as well and join the upcoming party tonight.

Marieh and I went to our favorite boutique yesterday to buy our dress for the party. Of course we both want to look stunning tonight. One thing I love about Marieh is that she knows how to dress me up. She's a fashionable person, stylish and is very helpful. She can be my personal stylist! Marieh bought a halter dress for her. I bought a tube top dress. We are both very excited to wear our dress tonight.

I need to drive to Marieh's place now and pick her up. We are going straight to the hairdresser to have our hair washed and blow dry. I parked in front of Marieh's house and I saw her walking out of her house. Wow, my best friend is really beautiful and undeniably stunning. She told me as she sat on her seat, "You are gorgeous Karen. May the best lady win the most good-looking man tonight!", she jokingly said as she winked. Marieh and I can get very naughty at times. We also love competing for fun.

We are on our way to the party half an hour before the start of the party. Marieh and I have been to our friends' parties lots of times. This one is different in a sense that we do not know what to expect and what to see there. When Marieh and I entered the room, there are lots of members who were already there. We noticed one thing though. Most of the men there look like they are in their early 30s to 40s. Marieh and I were expecting younger men. Oh well, the party must go on.

The host of the party, who is one of the dating service moderators, announced that it's time for members to get one-on-one encounter. Members will have the chance to meet all other members and are given 5 minutes each to sit face to face and have a quick chat.

At the end of that stage of the party, Marieh and I have both agreed that there was only one guy who has got all the factors we are looking for in a date. His name is Dave. We did not notice him before as he was surrounded by most of the female members. Marieh and I had the chance to chat with him for more than an hour before we left the party. The funny thing was Marieh and I had a dance with him as well. We dared each other on who will be the first one to touch his face and have a peck on his cheek. I did.

We never thought that a dating service like this is so much fun. It is definitely worth the membership fee we paid.

Three days after that party, Dave rang and asked me out. I am dying to tell Marieh.
